ring, ring. hello? ring, ring. hello?

my next art adventure involves painting a life sized fibre glass replica of a british icon the K6 kiosk telephone box. to raise vital funds for a fantastic charity Childline.

the summer of 2012 promises to be one not to forget and in the year of the Diamond Jubilee, we want to connect people with this familiar icon. BT ArtBox is about joining in with the nation’s celebrations and showcasing the nation’s diverse talent. across London’s iconic streetscapes you’ll find replicas of the Gilbert Scott telephone box, transformed by the very best British creativity. And after the public display, we’ll auction the boxes to raise money for ChildLine to celebrate their 25th Anniversary.

my phone box "the thing with feathers (that perches in the soul)" along with the other 99 boxes will go out on the streets of london from 18th june - 16th july 2012 after which, they will all be auctioned off in the hope of raising £1 million for Childline.

i will soon be on my travels down to london to bring my design to life. follow painting in progress tweets @lozatkinson_art
